Hey everyone, this is my first video with Madison. In it we discuss how media affects our lives.
I chose to use the sepia effect on this picture with my friend Madison because I think its cool that you can change the background to be darker rather than just using the normal effect.
I like using the comic book effect because I think it is interesting to be able to see yourself drawn as a comic book character.
I chose to use pop art as a type of effect because it is fun to be able to see myself with colorful skin and to see the background all different colors and also you get four pictures in one.
I chose to use the effect x-ray because it is really cool that you can see all the bones by just taking a simple picture on photo booth.
I used comic book again because it is my favorite effect on photo booth because it is so cool to be able to be drawn so fast as a comic book character. It is also cool to look at the background and see the computers as comic book pictures.

RACISM

RACISM

This picture shows that no matter what color skin you have, what colour hair you have or what religion you practice you are a human being and all human beings deserve to be treated justly and fairly. In order for that to happen everyone needs to work together to stop racism.

This picture with the two color feet represent
institutional racism. Institutional racism occurs when institutions such as universities, and governments discriminate against different groups of  people either knowingly or unknowingly to limit their rights.  Discrimination in housing, education, employments and health are some forms of institutional racism.

This picture which says "end racism thru unity" means that in order for racism to no longer exist in the world  everyone needs to work together to make that change happen.

This no racism sign helps everyone remember that racism should not be tolerated or accepted in today's society. It also helps raise awareness to the fact that racism is a big social issue and we need to take action in order for racism to no longer exist in the world that we live in today.

Reflecting on Media

I attended my first Media, Technology and Education class today and have already learnt a lot about the different types of media and ways of communicating. I feel that it is important to use technology in the classroom because technology is used all the time in today's society. It is important to use it effectively and appropriately during lessons because as a teacher you do not want to overwhelm your students by introducing them to too much new technology at once. It is also important to make sure as a teacher you keep up with the new and changing technology in order to educate your students. Technology is also a good way to communicate because by using chat rooms, facebook, or webcams you can keep in touch will people fast and efficiently. This class will help me to learn more about the media and ways to use it in the classroom.
